ALEXANDER MCQUEEN DRAPED DRESS, Personal Work 2020
Virtual version of the draped pink taffeta dress with exposed corset from Alexander's McQueen's Pre-fall 2019 collection inspired by northern England's landscapes and culture.
The complex voluminous silhouette is recreated in 3D as an exercise to see how accurate draping, technique very used in high fashion, can be recreated in CLO3D
In the details can be seen the exposed corset, draping and oversized brooch. Opposed to couture practices, some of the moulded pieces were created flat first and then added volume by slashing and spreading techniques.
Some other renders made almost a year later, after improved settings in light and material, in order to give more realism to the fabrics and skin.
